REVIEWING INFRARED SAUNA

A while back I wrote this post about the testing of an infrared sauna, in collaboration with Radiant Health, describing their infrared saunas including potential benefits. After having tested and used the sauna for myself over a longer period of time, it now feels like it’s time to share my own experiences with the sauna and the effects it has had on me.

1. Detox

To be able to sweat every day, or at least several times a week, is for me a good enough reason to have an infrared sauna by itself. Sweating is one of the body’s most natural ways to eliminate toxins, making it a crucial part of detoxification. Sweating is extremely important, and even though you sweat during exercise and physical activity, the process of, and ways of sweating when using the sauna, is entirely different. It’s a deep detox, where the sweat just pours. The way the heat causes you to sweat and release stored toxins, leaving you feeling clean and fresh, is truly amazing.

I believe sweating is important to do, daily if you can, and the deep sweating the infrared sauna provides, is hard to get elsewhere than in a sauna like this.

2. Natural Pain Relief and relaxation

Infrared sauna therapy has been shown to significantly reduce pain, which were one of the many potential benefits I was eager to test for myself. Not only do the warmth from the infrared sauna make your whole body soft and free of tension, I have also experienced decreasing pain in my body after use and in between sessions. This has to do with an increased circulation of blood that comes with the heat, in which provides a healing relief. The heat generated by the sauna will also help to relax muscles and relieve tension throughout the body, allowing you to relax and de-stress. The deep warming of the body raises your core body temperature, leaving you feeling warm and mushy. If you have any kind of chronic pain, I absolutely believe that infrared sauna therapy could work for you as a natural pain treatment.

3. SKIN

By using the infrared sauna regularly, I noticed cleaner and better skin, which is pretty logical, as the sauna cleanses the body from within and helps purify your skin by eliminating toxins from your pores as well as increasing circulation, resulting in clearer, softer, and healthier-looking skin with a fresh color. Increased circulation has also been shown to relieve acne, eczema, psoriasis, burns and cuts.

These are some of the benefits I’ve experienced for myself and I can’t wait to uncover new ones as I continue to use the sauna. I truly like my sauna, and how it keeps me warm, healthy and free of tension. Infrared sauna therapy is also said to have a great impact on our immune system as a whole as well as stress reduction, metabolism etc, like mentioned on Radiant Health’s website. I encourage you to read more here, if you are curious! Any infrared sauna experiences out there? Let me know!
