Chemical messengers

Hormones get blamed for everything. Feeling moody? Hormones. Low energy? Hormones. Gaining weight? Hormones. By negatively labelling our hormones as the bad guy, we automatically dismiss our role in the way that our body function. It’s so easy to put the blame on our hormones, but we can’t act like we have no control of our bodies, or our hormones. It’s true that we might feel moody and tired as well as gaining weight BECAUSE OF our hormones, or because they are out of balance, but that doesn’t mean that the actual hormones are to blame, because the hormones only do what we «tell them» to do. Hormones are simply chemical messengers and they are acting in accordance to our behaviour, lifestyle and environment, which means that there’s nothing wrong with our hormones. What is wrong is how we affect our hormones and our hormonal system as a whole, and that is our responsibility. Our body, and hormones, work for us. Always. They are not against you. And since hormones are the messenger, they can never be the primary cause. Something underlying is causing hormone dysregulation which means that hormonal imbalance is just a symptom of something else. When regulating hormones, we don’t address the actual hormonal imbalance alone, we address what caused the imbalance in the first place.

Ask yourself

- Am I sleeping enough?
- How is my stress?
- Am I eating nourishing and healthy foods?
- How clean is the water I’m drinking?
- Am I prioritizing self care and self love?
- How is my relationship with myself? With others?
- Am I using all natural products on my body and in my home?
- Am I moving my body regularly?

Your hormonal health lies in the answer of these questions. So simple, yet so difficult.
