Why supplement

I often times hear people say that we are not meant to be eating pills, in response to supplementation. And I agree. BUT we are not meant to be living in an environment filled with stress, toxins and all sorts of disruptive substances as well as eating sugars, refined and processed foods like we do today, many of us on a daily basis, either. So it's about adapting to whats best in the situation we're in. The fact is; most people do have deficiencies.

WHY SUPPLEMENT

1. Depleted soil from conventional farming practices, pesticides and chemicals. Our soils are lacking minerals and organisms, and remember; the food won’t be more nutritious than the soil it’s grown in.

2. While we are meant to be eating locally grown foods, we now base a whole lot of our diet off of food coming from far away. Purchasing produce like fruit and vegetables from long distances means it get picked early, before it’s ripe, cutting it off from its nutrient supply. As it once was from your garden straight to your plate, it’s now more like from Cuba to Noway. Of course it doesn’t have the same nutritional value as it would have if it was locally grown and harvested.

3. Stress, which we all experience at some point, depletes the body of minerals and living a high-stress lifestyle will demand even more.

4. Medication and birth control pills robs your body of spesific nutrients.

5. Eating a poor diet containing processed and sugar-filled foods causes you not to get near the amount of nutrients that your body needs. Even though you are eating only whole natural foods, you most likely won’t provide your body with all the nutrients that you need because of the many reasons above.

However, supplements will not fix a bad diet and lifestyle. Diet and lifestyle comes first. Then supplements, and you also have to address the reasons why you are deficient in the first place, not only treat the deficiency directly. It’s not cheap to supplement, and you have to pick high quality supplements in the right forms. I do spend a good chunk of money each month on supplements but I've been able to balance my hormones, reduce my acne and boost my energy. With enough nutrients, your body starts working.
