Spirulina Face Mask

Did you know that spirulina makes for a great skin treatment as well as a superfood in our diets? I won't claim that spirulina face mask gives you perfect skin, as I don't have perfect skin (for different reasons) but it sure does make a difference as it really gives your skin a nutrient boost. A spirulina face mask exfoliate, moisturize and nourish your skin, leaving it feeling soft, hydrated, smooth and radiant. It's also great for acne prone skin, as it increases circulation which sends more oxygen to your skin cells and carries cell waste away.

This green algae may smell a little funky, but it’s packed with nutrition such as antioxidants, vitamin E, iron, magnesium, vitamin B and it’s also rich in protein and chlorophyll which is a great cleanser and detoxifier. Spirulina is considered to be the most nutrient dense food on the planet.

A basic skin-detoxing spirulina face mask can be made by simply mixing 2 teaspoons of spirulina with enough cooled tea (chamomile or green) or water to make a paste. Spread over face and let dry for at least ten minutes, then wash clean. I always rinse off in the shower to avoid any extra mess.
