PROGESTERONE

Progesterone is the yin hormone. The supporting and calming one. It's the key hormone for period health, and it's needed to balance the estrogen levels in the body. It's a natural diuretic, which means it helps you release excess fluids in your body. When we don’t have enough, we bloat. Not only in your belly, but you’ll feel puffy all over because your body is retaining water.

Progesterone raises body temperature and boosts metabolism, helping your thyroid perform efficiently. Low progesterone = low thyroid = low energy. Enough progesterone = better thyroid health = more energy. So progesterone plays a part in getting you out of bed.

This magical hormone rules our period; low levels will have you experiencing bloating, like mentioned, cramps, heavy bleeding and PMS. It also determines the apperance of your skin (prevents acne and wrinkles), how your energy levels are like, as well as influencing your mental health and how you cope with stress. Progesterone neutralizes stress, in a sense, and makes you more calm, centered and balanced. It also reduces inflammation, build mucles, and promotes sleep. Let me just say; the more progesterone you have in your life, the better your life will be.

Low progesterone is a epidemic among the women of today, and most of us are low, or deficient, due to many factors.

If you are curious about why we become low in progesterone, and what to do about it, let me know and I’ll write more about it! I love sharing this hormonal knowledge with you beautiful ladies! And to help you become more balanced.
